THE TEAM AT STELLAR FARMS

Our team is a vibrant blend of dedicated growers, passionate vintners, and creative minds, each bringing their own expertise and perspective to every aspect of Stellar Farm.

​United by a shared love of the land and a commitment to sustainable practices, we strive to honor our region’s agricultural. From meticulously tending the vines to crafting each bottle with care, our collaborative spirit ensures that every vintage reflects the vision and heart of everyone who calls this place home. Together, we celebrate milestones, weather challenges, and raise a glass to the journey that, for us, is as rewarding as each finished bottle.

Owners, Adam and Carissa, grew up on the Colorado front range. Adam has been growing food in some capacity since 2005 and sold produce to local restaurants and farmers markets. Carissa went to school in Boulder, CO, where she earned her degree in baking sciences. When a market downturn hit the farm and restaurant industry, Adam went to work at a high-end wine store where his interest in wine and its roots in agriculture grew into a passion. With a desire to get their hands back in the dirt, they moved to Western North Carolina in 2017 and planted their first acre of vines in 2018 which has since grown to a total of three acres.

As the wine production grew, Mark Koval, friend and fearless sales leader, joined the team in 2024. Mark has a passion for everything food and drink and is an advocate for locally grown products – you can find him without fail wandering the farmers markets every Saturday morning. Some may know Mark as the “beer dude”, but he has made the transformation to the “wine dude”.

THE WINES MADE
AT STELLAR FARM

AbouT

Our journey with viticulture began in 2018 with 11 varieties of French American hybrid grapes. Great viticulture starts with terroir and with terroir comes unique trials, tribulations, and unforeseen inspirations. After three years of cultivation, the true stars of our grapes shone through, Chambourcin, Noiret, St. Vincent and Frontenac. We successfully harvested our first vintage in 2021 and excitedly began our winemaking, finally getting to taste the fruits of our labor in our wines.

 

FRUIT WINES

During our journey, we unexpectedly discovered a passion for non-traditional fruit wines. We produce a seasonal strawberry wine and apple cider that launched our Stellar Solstice series. Using the abundant variety of local seasonal produce, we anticipate many more unique wines to come! Honing our craft we also source juice from around the world to add more diversity to our wine offerings.
